- Hiking tour through the Montmartre Our Dutch speaking guide will take you to the Montmartre, located in the north in the 18th arrondissement. The district is often called ‘La Butte’ (the hill) by Parisians. This used to be a village far away from the centre of Paris, but is now completely swallowed up by this metropolis. In the 19th century, this was the hotspot for anyone who wanted to be part of the artistic world of that time. Here, it was full of writers, poets, composers and painters such as Dalí, Picasso and Van Gogh, and fortunately much of the character of the village has been preserved in the Montmartre. The small streets and squares will give you an intimate feeling. The metropolis of Paris with its wide boulevards seems miles away. Would you like to have a drawing of yourself or another painting as a souvenir? In this case, have to visit the Place du Tetre.
